BALI

Bali is a place often associated with partying, beaches and having a good time. People may get bad pre conceptions about this place but in actual fact, there is lots more to do here than drinking and just partying!

Bali is a beautiful place filled with historical sight seeing as well as family friendly things to do such as the rice terrace in ubud, sea side temples in Tenah Lot, cheap shopping at the various markets around the island, luwak coffee farm and orchard, Bali zoo and of course lots of beaches and beautiful villas for relaxing!

3 top tips for first timers in Bali:

1. Be Prepared!

Before you set foot onto your tropical getaway, make sure you prepare cash!
As you come through customs, you will be charged around $35 USD for a 30 day visa. When you depart Bali, a similar amount will also be charged. Make sure you are prepared!

In Bali, tipping is also a very important custom, particularly when getting a service. It is part of their culture to get tipped and they rely heavily on tips.

2. Getting around

Bali taxis and private cars is the most abundant source of transport in Bali aside from motorbikes. There are many metered taxis throughout the entire island.
There are also private cars that can be hired for a day or two where there are no set meters.
Negotiation is key, make sure you have an agreed rate for the trip before you start the trip or you might be taking lots out of your wallet!

3. It is a place of rich culture

Everywhere you look, from the moment you step outside your hotel room, to offerings sitting outside shop fronts. Balinese culture and rituals are filled along the roadsides and they are proud of their culture. Be mindful as visitors to respect their religion and culture. Embrace it and learn about their rituals!
Make a trip out of it and discover the beautiful sea side temples in Tenah Lot.
